Meet the Artist of the month
Beatrice Colombo Serri
Born and raised in Milan, Italy, she completed a Master’s degree in Performance Design & Practice at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2013). After graduating, she moved to New York, where she worked across a range of creative disciplines in order to broaden her skills and refine her artistic vision.
About the exhibition
Watercolors and mixed media Palm trees, colors, light and tropical atmospheres take centre stage in this small solo exhibition, born of a desire to capture on paper that sense of summer: the scent of the sea, the warmth on the skin, the intense light and that light-heartedness that seems to accompany days spent far from the daily grind.
Through watercolors and mixed media, ‘Mondi Tropicali’ depicts real and imagined places, transformed into color. The palm trees, recurring motifs, become a symbol of another world: a place where time slows down, one’s breathing becomes more leisurely, and one simply lets oneself be enveloped by the warmth.
The works on display evoke precisely this: the serenity, the light and the warmth that a tropical landscape conveys, inviting the viewer to rediscover, even in the heart of the city and in everyday life, that sense of freedom we so often associate with summer.
